David Timms BEd MA MSc PhD - Board Member

David Timms spent 37 years of his career in full-time teaching, research and management roles at Leicester University, Manchester University and Bath Spa University. At Bath Spa David was a Professor of English and Deputy Vice Chancellor. David also spent some time working for the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), particularly as a reviewer of institutions applying for degree-awarding powers. He became a freelance higher education consultant in 2010. Clients have included higher education institutions and regulatory bodies from the UK and overseas. As well as continuing to undertake reviews for the QAA in a freelance capacity, David is a trained ‘European Expert’ for the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), and an experienced chair of ENQA reviews. David sits on the Nominations & Governance Committee.
