Accommodation and life in Bath
Discover NorlandMake the most of everything the city has to offer
The only city in England to qualify as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bath is home to stunning Georgian architecture and important Roman sites. With its large student population, Bath is also an interesting and vibrant university city – bustling with life and entertainment. The city centre is easily accessible and small enough to explore on foot, with excellent bus links to and from student accommodation areas.
Bath offers a diverse range of shops, art galleries, museums, clubs, cafes, bars, restaurants and an annual calendar of festivals and events meaning the city has something to offer everyone. While it boasts the highest number of Michelin-rated restaurants outside London, you can still eat out cheaply. It has several theatres, including the Theatre Royal and the egg – the only children’s theatre outside London. It offers both an art-house cinema and an eight-screen Odeon for the latest blockbusters and hosts the annual Bath Film Festival. There are plenty of opportunities for fitness and leisure within the city and in the beautiful surrounding countryside, or you could relax in its famed natural thermal waters at the Thermae Bath Spa, which offers residential discounts.
Explore student life at NorlandAccommodation in the beautiful, historic and vibrant university city of Bath
Norland does not have its own accommodation. You’ll live in a shared student house in the city of Bath, enabling you to immerse yourself in student life outside of Norland training and learn essential life skills. When you’re offered a place at Norland, we’ll ask you if you’d like us to help you find your first-year accommodation. We try to place all those who would like accommodation with other first year Norland students in a house which has been visited and vetted by a member of staff. Occasionally, if there is a spare room in one of the first year houses, we may offer it out to a student from another university or a Norland student from another year group. All bedrooms are furnished with a bed, desk, drawers and a wardrobe. All accommodation sourced by us is within walking distance or a bus ride from Norland.
Please note that accommodation contracts are strictly between you and the letting agent or landlord. Contracts are from September. The duration of contracts is typically 51 weeks. The rent for first-year accommodation is in the table below.
Please also note that first-year landlords will require a UK homeowner guarantor to secure accommodation. For UK students, this will usually be a parent or guardian. If you are an international student or you do not have a UK homeowner guarantor, please contact the admissions team.
