Emily (Set 41) reveals the worries she had about the academic side of the programme, the support that’s helped her succeed and her future ambitions.

“I’d always said I was never going to university, that’s not for me. And then I looked at options when I had to apply and then came across Norland again. And I came to one of the open days and I thought ‘I love it here!’”

“For me, I really love placements. I love how we get to go to work in the community of Bath so not only do you live here, and you’re educated here, but you actually get to help people.”

“I was really worried that I wouldn’t be able to do the academic work. I’m not very academically gifted. Although Norland is so practical, and you get to do the Norland Diploma and everything, I was just really worried because of the degree. But the support at Norland has been incredible and there’s always someone to help you, and I didn’t need to worry about that whatsoever.”

“Norland has helped me so much, to believe in myself, and actually just think outside the box. I think that Norland doesn’t just make you a nanny, it makes you an amazing early years practitioner.”
