Mandy Edmond MA, FAHEP - Vice Principal, Head of Quality and Standards and Registrar

Mandy Edmond is the Vice Principal and part of the Executive and Strategic Leadership Team at Norland. She is also Head of Quality and Standards and Registrar. As such, she is responsible for the academic governance of the degree and diploma, ensuring that students meet recognised sector standards in their academic work and that they can effectively apply their knowledge to their work with young children and their families. Within her Quality, Standards and Registry department, she manages admissions, student services, library, quality, student records and data, and IT. She is also responsible for Norland’s compliance with the higher education regulatory framework, working with OfS, QAA, OIA, HESA and UCAS. She deputises for the Principal in her absence and led Norland’s application for TDAP. She has guided Norland through successful QAA reviews and has spoken at national QAA and HEFCE conferences on the subjects of student engagement, the use of student data in quality systems and enhancement. She is also a regular contributor to workshops run by Independent HE. Prior to Norland, she worked in higher education in two FE Colleges and at the University of Reading as Programme Director, where she designed and managed an undergraduate and postgraduate programme. Mandy has co-authored a text book for Early Years students and been involved in a SIG literature review for BERA. Her recent research has focused on the qualities of home-based childcare. She has an MA in Teaching and Learning from the University of Reading.
