Newly Qualified Nanny (NQN)  student Ike (set 43) wrote a piece for the Metro documenting his experiences as a male nanny in a female-dominated sphere.

In this article, Ike describes the need to break the stigma surrounding men working in the childcare profession, and how his experiences training at Norland and working in different families has prepared him for a lifelong career.

“Just from the very fact of being a male nanny, I know I’m teaching a crucial lesson to the children I look after: that their sex or gender shouldn’t limit them in any way, and that if they’re passionate and dedicated, they can do any job they like.”

Norland is firmly committed to finding and supporting those who will make the very best early years practitioners to work with babies, young children, and their families in the home and other settings, regardless of their age, gender, disability, religion, nationality, ethnic or socio-economic background.
