Dr Janet Rose joins Wera Hobhouse MP for Bath school visit

Dr Janet Rose, Principal joined Wera Hobhouse, MP for Bath at Widcombe Infant School and Widcombe Acorns Forest Pre-school to look at attachment and trauma informed practice in action last week.
Alongside Wera, who is the Chair of the Parliamentary All Party Group on Adverse Childhood Experiences, Janet was also be joined by Dr Alish Rodgers who is an educational and child psychologist and a member of the Bath and North East Somerset Virtual School and Educational Psychology Service.
Janet said: “It was a privilege to visit Widcombe Infants with Wera to hear about the work being done on trauma informed practice. Wera’s strong commitment to raising awareness of attachment and trauma needs in schools is heartening.”
Janet is passionate about attachment and trauma informed practice. She is an adviser to the Attachment Research Community (ARC), which recently published an Attachment and Trauma Awareness Call to Action to ensure all children are supported emotionally as they return to school. She will be speaking at the House of Commons on the subject in November to help raise awareness of attachment and trauma needs within schools across England. The Call to Action campaign aims to complement and extend the Department for Education’s guidance on supporting mental health in schools and on teaching about mental wellbeing.
