Ciara Walsh BA (Hons), MA - Early Years Lecturer

Ciara joined Norland in August 2020. She teaches on both the degree and diploma courses. She has worked in education for eleven years. For the past eight years, Ciara has worked as an early years lecturer in higher and further education, teaching level 1 up to level 6. After graduating from a level 3 childcare course, she volunteered in Lesotho, South Africa, for an academic year where she found her passion for early years education. Whilst there, she worked in early years settings and also set up a programme for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

She went on to complete a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and Care, a Master’s degree in Sociology of Development and Globalisation and a Master’s of Science in Practitioner Research. Her interests include love in early years settings, the importance of the child’s voice and the lived experiences of new parents.
